Pitmaston Pine Apple

What are my special features?

A dessert apple that is everything the supermarkets hate - small yellow and spotty, yet tastes fantastic proving that image over substance rules in the modern world. Best eaten as a dessert apple, it has a wonderful rich flavour with a hint of honey and can be eaten from October to December.

Why am I forgotten?

Strongly associated with the Pitmaston nursery of Worcester, it is now only available as a tree from a few specialist nurseries. Out of favour because of its looks and only found on a few gardens and allotments
