Hundred House are speciality coffee roasters based in the Corvedale Valley. They pride themselves on combining expertise with a passion to source, roast and supply, as sustainably as possible, unique tasting coffees from small holdings all around the world.
You will visit their roastery which is in a converted barn in a yard shared with other speciality-driven food producers. Matt will explain the roasting process and talk about their ways of sourcing. Then partner Annabelle will lead you through a full sensory experience of smelling and tasting the different types of their coffee.
We will then move onto Kirkwood Distillery who produce craft spirits using local ingredients and traditional methods. They distil the spirits from barley grown in Shropshire and Herefordshire and forage botanicals for the gin from the Long Mynd, Carding Mill Valley and the Onny Meadows. From these local ingredients, they create a vodka and gin and will eventually produce a local whisky.
Attendees will receive a tour of the distillery by owner Scott Kirkwood, located in a grade-2 listed farm building in Stanton Lacy. You will learn about the methods and equipment used in crafting Kirkwood spirits, as well as an insight into how different spirits are created. After the tour, a guided tasting session will allow attendees to sample the spirits being produced.
Please note this tour is self guided, own transport will be required
