Taste Workshop - The Wine of the West. Fri 13 Sept 6pm

Taste Workshop - The Wine of the West. Fri 13 Sept 6pm

Cider was once heralded as the finest drink on these shores. But today cider tends to be a by-word for something either manufactured and commodified, or rough and unappealing. It's time to change the way we think and drink cider.

Join The Ciderologist, Gabe Cook, as he demonstrates most entertainingly that cider and perry can have all of the finesse and elegance of a great wine and delves into the history and mystery of these special drinks. You will be tasting, amongst others, Fletcher's Red Oak - barrel aged cider with notes of vanilla, caramel and spice and Gospel Green - methode traditionelle cider exuding all of the brioche and herbaceous characters of a classic Champagne. There will be finger foods to accompany the drinks.

Please note that entry for this workshop (only) is by the external door to the Beacons Room to the right of the Castle entrance and does not require a Festival entrance ticket.

Please note ticket sales will close at 9pm the evening before. There is a small booking fee.
